UIPM bids for Obstacle Racing at Brisbane 2032
Pentathlon leaders have applied to the IOC for a second Olympic discipline: Ninja 100m. They blame a compressed IOC timeline for the speed of the internal decision. Though, Vice President Viacheslav Malishev says the Executive Board had been kept in the dark about the IOC’s letter for eleven days.
The Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) has applied to the International Olympic Committee for a second Olympic discipline. The discipline proposed is Obstacle Racing (Ninja 100). UIPM President Rob Stull and Secretary General Shiny Fang informed the presidents and secretaries general of the national federations.
According to Stull and Fang, it was only on 13 July, less than three weeks after the 146th IOC Session in Lausanne, that the IOC invited all Summer Olympic international federations to each propose one additional candidate discipline for the programme of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032. The UIPM application, they say, reached the IOC before the deadline of 31 July.

On 4 August, Viacheslav Malishev of Georgia, for ten years a member of the UIPM Executive Board and newly appointed Vice President for Business Affairs, contradicted the claims made by Stull and Fang.
"From my side, in this email, I would like to assure you that the UIPM Executive Board received IOC urgent information only on July 24th, which means 11 days after the UIPM Office received it. The Executive Board had not 18 days for discussions."
That left only seven days.
